Town

Founded in 1875, Goryvale is a quaint small town nestled in the Catoctin Mountains of Western Maryland. The town mascot is the Black Cats. Hiss! Boom! Hiss! Goooo Cats!

The most unusual and striking feature of Goryvale is the 50-foot skyscraper built in the 1970s by the eccentric multi-millionaire, Gordon Galloway, creator of the Galloway Super Computer Chip. Now, the Galloway Tower houses the Galloway Public Library, which rivals even the Platt Library in neighboring Baltimore. Strangely, the last Galloway is rumored to live at the top of the tower, though she has never been seen–in person–by the locals.

Surrounding this small suburban town are the Nine Hills of Goryvale, which residents affectionately call the Nine Hells, rumored to be the center of supernatural activities. Of course, that is pure nonsense! In fact, many prominent residents have built homes on the Nine Hells–er, Nine Hills–like Dr. Villonious, the renowned professor of Mercurial science, or Hannah Tarseer, who runs the local candy shop with her daughter and granddaughter.

Actually, when one stops and thinks about it, Goryvale is really an unremarkable little town. It is probably best to move along and find a more interesting place to visit.

Nothing to see here.
